Batman Begins

I’ve been saying for a long time that I wanted to start doing movie reviews but when it really came down to it, I thought, “would it matter?” I don’t expect to make a huge impact on the movies you see but instead just to tell you what I like and hopefully get my readers interested also. Is a review the best way to do this? I really don’t think so. After I thought about it, it makes more sense to just give a quick blurb or synopsis which is exactly what I’m going to do.

I have to admit that I am not a huge fan of previous Batman movies with the exception of the original 1989 film by Tim Burton. I can’t exactly pinpoint my disappointment with the series but the films have just missed the spot with me. When I first found out they were releasing another movie I wasn’t too thrilled but that even slightly changed once I saw the trailer for the first time. I was confused; it looked good.

Released on Wednesday of this week, Batman Begins completely blows everything you ever thought about Batman out of the water. It’s fresh, clean, and despite the refurbished character, it delivers on all fronts. Action, story, effects, and cinematics are all superb. Everything about this movie was good. Both Katie Holmes and the Bat Mobile, the two things that had me worried, turned out to fit perectly. Do yourself a favor and go see this movie, I have a feeling it will be the ‘Spiderman’ of the summer of 2002.

I guess I was saying it will be just as big of a hit as ‘Spiderman’ was in Summer 2002. My wording was a bit off I suppose.
