Adobemedia

Sometimes I read something that I would normally put on my “currently reading” linkblog there on my sidebar but for whatever reason, I find it interesting enough to make a full post. Today’s news is a perfect example.

Adobe is set to acquire Macromedia. Yes, you heard me right. I don’t know where this huge bit of news came from but it appears like Adobe will control almost all the tools of the trade for creative users. Although I don’t use Dreamweaver (for obvious reasons), Flash is something I have been trying to get more and more into. Having used Photoshop and Illustrator a good amount, I hope this acquisition will result in a more standard program layout for all the programs. Also, imagine the possibilities to quickly and easily move things from Photoshop to Flash or to any other Adobe/Macromedia application. Nevertheless, this is pretty big news.
