Free Ringtones for All

Do you pay for ring tones or even images to have on your cell? SmashTheTones takes your MP3’s (iTunes purchased music does not work) or pictures and sends them to your phone for FREE! You should never again pay for a ring tone or wallpaper again. I have absolutely no idea how I missed this site cause I’m typically on top of this stuff.

I tested out the service and it took about 3 minutes total from selecting my MP3 to trimming it to downloading it into my phone. Yes, you can trim the MP3 to the point of the song you wish to have and even specify the length from 1 second to 60. As for images, you can upload any image under 4 MB and select which part of the image you want to display for your phone. Since the site asks you for the phone model number, it should have the correct resolution when you are selecting your picture. Once you’re done trimming either your MP3 or image, they just send you a text message with a link to download your newly created file. It’s extremely easy and works very well. I tested it with both a MP3 and an image and the quality was good even on my 2 year old cell.

I should note that you are giving them your cell phone number (so they can text message you) and although it clearly says they will not use it for SMS spam, I can not personally vouch for the validity of that. However, I have read information about the site and the developers seem very real about not sending spam or selling the numbers to someone you does send spam.
