Putting Back Together The Pieces

I wanted to bring this to everyone’s attention because it is meaningful to me. As you may know, I was an avid viewer of The Screen Savers back in the day when they were still with TechTV minus the G4 tag. Since the merger of G4 and TechTV, I have all but stopped watching TSS all together. Sad yes but all hope is not lost.

It is no secret that G4 acquired TechTV and then burned it to the ground through the firing of virtually all the TechTV personalities and giving most of the shows the good old axe. It is also no secret that the life and soul of TechTV is still in the hearts of the personalities that created what TechTV was. I recently listened to a short MP3 podcast done my Leo Laporte [click here to listen] that reminded me of the old days of TSS; Leo, Pat, Kevin, and the gang together talking technology in a fun environment for both nerds and non-nerds. The most interested part of the interview was Kevin Rose’s statement that he is working with many former TechTV employees to produce downloadable video content for the web much in the format of the good the old TSS. In fact on Kevin’s site he somewhat explains what is going with this idea and more notably is asking for anyone who is able to donate either via PayPal or by purchasing a “broken” t-shirt [pictured right].
