Restructuring the Structure

Promises are a very strong thing and most times I’m not one to usually be bold enough to make them; luckily it is not one of those times. I recently have been surfing around and really noticing that (compared to other blogs) my site lacks a distinguishing feel. There are so many quality blogs that without little things like ping and track back listings and a search function your site can be easily lost in the masses. A blog really has to possess good usability and provide functionality (often neglected in many blogs) to make it really stand out.
Over the course of the next month or so you can expect to see a great number of changes, improvements, and the completion of all portions of SpyderFCS.com. Recently I have completed a mock site for a New Media Course I have taken here at the University. I really enjoyed the course and gained a much better knowledge of both CSS and HTML coding. I plan on using this to produce the best possible site for my visitors.
You can expect to see all old entries cleaned up to they represent the new visual feel of SpyderFCS.com. One of my main goals is to add the entire icon downloads section I previous had on the icons page of my previous site. As you know the new format is quite a bit different then the old. So rather than having a separate page for icon downloads, I will have a category devoted to them. Having the downloads as a category within the site blog makes more sense from a coding, blogging, and organization standpoint.
Overall, once I am able to remove the “beta” tag I have currently placed on SpyderFCS.com your experience here will be greatly improved. The site will become strictly organized yet easily accessible for first time visitors and daily readers alike. The content will become more dynamic and the entries will become more true to me. I have lofty goals for SpyderFCS.com and I plan on doing everything to see that those goals are realized. If you have any thoughts or know something you think I should include, please leave comments with your ideas. Stay tuned…
