I Keep Hitting The Refresh Button

So I’ve said I would not update anything until well, I was ready to update everything. I’ve been working on a new design with some added content and as you can see, it’s taken me much longer then expected. Coupled with school, football, and general laziness, it’s been a slowww process full of highs, lows, and in betweens.

If you reading this, it’s obvious that this update has yet to occur. While I’m working hard to bring the best SpyderFCS.com yet, I thought it would be fun to highlight a few of the “new” aspects you’ll see once I’m ready to launch:

New Look, New Feel, New Style
This is probably the most exciting to me personally. I think I’ve become more and more interested in design rather then coding but obviously they are necessary evils of each other.
Wordpress over MovableType
I’ve used the MovableType CMS/blogging system since the beginning really. It has taught me more about HTML, XHTML, and CSS then I could ever have wanted but honestly, it’s just not the system for me any longer
I am moving to WordPress which will enable me to provide functionality I only dreamed of with MovableType. You’ll see examples of this once I can finalize everything I’ve been looking to complete.
Better Focusing
I mentioned this previously but wanted to reiterate it. Aside from the visual changes, the biggest alteration you’ll notice will be the content that is provided. While I’d love to continue offering icon conversions among other things, I just don’t have the time to give the dedication it takes to do these tasks.
Not all hope is lost however, I may randomly still perform these tasks but they will just be included in my regular blog area rather than a separate section.

Thing really are going to get exciting around here (for me anyway) in the near future. The main problem I am having is setting up multiple pages with one install of WordPress. This issue is supposed to be addressed in the newest version set to launch sometime in the future. The problem is that I have not time line as to when it will launch. Let’s just hope it’s soon for my sake. In the mean time, keep a look out for updates here under the old rugged look.
