A New Chapter

When I first started SpyderFCS.com I had a bold vision of a place where visitors could get a glimpse into who I am but also have an experience other than just reading text. In an attempt to accomplish that goal, I worked hard to get permissions from any and all icon creators I could find. This process became tedious, confusing, and at times frustrating. I also set up a desktops section which I wanted to develop into a community of various artists. Then to display my own work, I created a pictures section for my photography (which I recently “closed”).
As you can see, my attempts were bold but in the end they consumed far too much of my time. At the time I opened the site, I was excited and motivated to devote my time to the tasks of e-mail artists for permissions and other various tasks. However, since then, I’ve had a much more difficult time gaining permissions and finding the time to contact these artists. If you can’t tell, I’ve all but neglected those portions of my site. I apologize for this to the users that enjoyed those sections but for me to accomplish my goals, I would need to do this full time.
Instead, I’ve sat down and slowly thought about exactly what I want SpyderFCS.com to be and to become. I’ve visited and revisited hundreds, if not thousands of blogs. Some of my favorites can be found in the right column under “places to visit.” After contemplating and at times even considering closing SpyderFCS.com I’ve decided to refocus.
In the future, SpyderFCS.com will slowly transform and become much more narrow in scope. This will allow me to update more frequently and with content that is much more personal. No, I’m not going to let this become a journal. Instead, I’ll post about things I read, visit, see, or think during the daily routines of life. Also, be on the lookout for a portfolio/resume. More or less, it’s all about self-promotion right? I didn’t think so…

Brad, I will look forward to reading your reformatted blog and learning of your interests -your values, and things that are important to you. I will also look forward to reading your portfolio/resume. Good luck with the new format and your last year of school. Would love to hear from you - it’s been a long time! Luv, Mom Mom
