Steve Yzerman has been a fabulous hockey player for his entire career. One of the greatest testimonials to his value in Detroit is the fact that he was drafted by the Detroit Red Wings and has been a member of that team ever since. That draft took place in 1983 and 660 goals, 1010 assists, and 1670 points later, Steve Yzerman is Detroit's Captain over 20 years later. During his illustrious career I am certain there have been opportunities for him to enter the "free market" and join another team for more money. Yet, he remains a Red Wing. Yzerman is close to retirement due to knee injuries and his age but this is not the way to end his career. It is my hope and the hope of every true lover of hockey that Steve Yzerman can overcome this set-back and play one more year at least. Our prayers are with him on a quick and complete recovery from this most recent injury. Let's go Wings......Win this series over the Calgary Flames for your Captian.
